2007 AALAM Banquet The 22nd annual banquet of the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts (AALAM) will be held Thursday, April 19, starting at 6 p.m., at the Omni Parker House. A networking cocktail hour will run from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a sit-down dinner.
The evening's key note speaker will be Wayne Budd, Esq., presently a senior counsel at Goodwin Procter LLP. Mr. Budd has had a varied and distinguished career in both the private and public sectors. Among other notable achievements, Mr. Budd was previously the United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts and Associate Attorney General appointed by President George H.W. Bush. He is a former Vice Chairman of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce and was recently appointed to serve on the Executive Committee of the National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories.
The Founders Award, awarded annually to a Massachusetts attorney who has made significant contributions in business, academics, or the community as it relates to the law, will be given to Caroline Chang, Esq. Ms. Chang is currently policy advisor to City Councilor-at-Large Sam Yoon, the first Asian-American elected to office in Boston, and she also serves as the Executive Director of the Chinese Historical Society of New England. Previously, Ms. Chang was the Director of the Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights in Boston.
