Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is responsible for developing and providing membership services and maintaining the membership roster. The committee engages in outreach with Boston area law firms, companies and government agencies to promote interest and engagement with AALAM and its activities.

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee manages the AALAM website, sends bi‐monthly AALAM membership emails and prepares the AALAM Newsletter that is distributed to AALAM members and sponsors on a semi‐annual basis.

Programs and Social Events Committee

The Programs and Social Events Committee plans AALAM’s schedule of social and networking events to bring AALAM members together. Past events include our recent “Elevation Celebration” to honor the recent elevation of 3 Asian American attorneys to the state judiciary, the “What Not to Wear” event to highlight the do's and don’ts of professional attire and our Annual Banquet, which took place this year at China Pearl Restaurant.

The Programs and Social Events Committee is further divided into the Community Service, Pro Bono, and Professional Development Subcommittees.

Endorsement and Advocacy Committee

The Endorsement and Advocacy Committee nominates candidates for various awards in the legal and professional communities, including AALAM’s two annual awards ‐ a Community Service Award presented at the Harry Dow Dinner and a Founders Award at the AALAM Banquet. When necessary, the Committee actively reviews and supports Asian‐American judicial candidates by submitting endorsement letters on their behalf. Finally, Committee reviews and evaluates these requests for support on various legal issues affecting the Asian American Community and makes recommendations to the Board for its consideration and vote (includes requests for non‐monetary support).

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee works with the Treasurer to set the investment strategy of the organization. The Committee also sets the parameters for sponsorship and reviews sponsorship requests.
