In October, AALAM members will join Asian Pacific American attorneys from across the country at the 2000 NAPABA National Convention in Washington, D.C. The Convention will include a reception honoring this year's recipients of the NAPABA Trailblazer Award, which include former NAPABA and AALAM president Paul Lee of Goodwin, Procter & Hoar LLP, who was honored at AALAM's Fall Reception on September 21. It's not too late to join fellow AALAM members at the Convention. For AALAM members who cannot obtain funding from their employers to travel to the Convention, AALAM has allocated funds to provide a subsidy to defray costs of the Convention (see below).

In AALAM's continuing efforts to increase participation of AALAM members in its programs and activities, this month's general meeting will be devoted to informing AALAM members and prospective members of the opportunities available to work on AALAM committees and programs. Because AALAM's success depends on member participation in its programs, all are encouraged to attend and take an active role in the organization.
