AALAM is proud to sponsor this year's John & Abigail Adams Benefit at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.  Paul W. Lee, a founder and first president of AALAM, will receive the 2024 Adams Benefit Public Service Award.

AALAM will have approximately 15-20 tickets available for this event, and will likely have available additional tickets for the Late Night at the Museum after-party for law students and newer lawyers starting at 9 pm that evening.  We expect a very high demand for the tickets that have been allocated AALAM for both the main program and the after-party.  If you do have the opportunity to attend through your firm, company or organization, we ask that you do so in order to allow more members to join who may not be able to attend otherwise.  You must be an AALAM member in good standing to register.  Tickets will be distributed based on need, tenure and active engagement with AALAM as an organization.

Please register no later than March 19, 2024 if you are interested in attending and we will confirm whether there is a ticket available for you by March 20, 2024.  You will be automatically added to a wait list if you do not receive a ticket.  Remember, confirmation of your registration on our website does not guarantee a ticket.

Cancellation Policy:  If you receive a ticket and must cancel, please let us know as far in advance as possible so we can allow another AALAM member to attend in your place.  Any confirmed registrants who cancel on or after April 3, 2024 will be required to refund AALAM the cost of your ticket if we are unable to fill your spot ($400 for event and $125 for after-party).  We will reach out prior to the event to confirm your attendance.

The Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts (“AALAM”) proudly congratulates Michelle Wu on her historic win as the first Asian American woman elected Mayor of Boston, Massachusetts.

Michelle Wu has long been a supporter of AALAM and she received the AALAM Scholarship Award in 2010 when she was a student at Harvard Law School. The annual AALAM Scholarship Award (renamed the AALAM/Dow Fund Scholarship in 2015) is awarded to an Asian American law student who demonstrates leadership potential, maturity and responsibility, a commitment to making a contribution to the Asian American community and other indicia of excellence, whether personal, professional or academic. Michelle Wu has certainly lived up to that commitment and we are excited to see her in action as Boston’s next mayor.

Simply put, representation matters and we were heartened to see a very talented pool of Boston mayoral candidates that reflected the growing diversity of Boston’s population.  In addition, we would like to thank Mayor Kim Janey, whose own historic administration broke ceilings and barriers, for her service.

We celebrate Michelle Wu, who will be a great asset to this city. AALAM is excited for the progressive change that her administration will bring to Boston.

Congratulations Mayor-elect Wu!
